Johanna & Dave

Prep in a trendy hotel downtown, ceremony in a picturesque stone church, photo time under a bridge with costumes, jumping and sitting on sand dunes before dinner. A wedding as fun as it was beautiful. Congrats Johanna & Dave! Can’t wait to update my website now. ( :

Jessie - Beautiful images, Melia. Looks like a fun couple and a fun wedding. I especially like the detail shots and that last one of the first dance. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Chris - hey love your work, so fresh, beautiful and with a sense of humor.

2010 is booked up

Just thought I should mention that I now have as many weddings as I can handle for 2010. I’m looking forward to next summer!

Evelyn & Jon

I’m so behind in blogging– but what a treat to revisit a beautifully warm early autumn afternoon spent with Evelyn and Jon making some portraits for their anniversary!

Jessie - Oh, I’m looking with longing at the warming light in these lovely photos…I just have to remind myself that under that snow and frost and hiding in that darkness and cold are the first signs of spring.

stranded in England

I love London, but this is bad. I sat about six hours in the plane yesterday after it landed from Berlin just waiting to be let off. At 3 am local time I had finally paid my $200 bucks to take a taxi into my assigned hotel. The soonest flight I could get home is for Sunday, so I may not be answering emails for a bit since I have to now go out and deal with things like underpants, tooth paste, and find some kind of blanket I can cut a hole in for my head. It’s blizzardy here and I don’t even have a coat with me. Sans moisturizer, I’ve just been rubbing chapstick into my face and so I’m off to find a LUSH or Khiels or whatever there may be! Wish me luck.

Jessie - Poor you! And I’m not even being sarcastic here…This is turning into quite the European winter tale.

Erika & Ryan - We were stuck in London too! We were shooting a wedding in Prague and on our way to Paris and had a lay over in London and were grounded for 2 days. It was brutal. We ended up staying at a hotel near Marble arch, were you there too?
Either way the baggage claim looked like a war zone at Heathrow. Too bad we didnt meet up, we could have documented the craziness at the airport.!
