I’m frequently asked if I do newborn photos and I always tell people that although I’m interested in this work, they’d be better off paying a visit to my neighbour and friend Morgaine Owens of Pure Light Studio. This is just a sampling of what she did for Mr. Scoot when he was 4 days old. More may be seen here. Seeing Morgaine work in her beautiful studio (which Jules and I now refer to as ‘the baby spa’ on account of its soothing ambience and plush baby wraps between poses) has reaffirmed my belief that I should continue forwarding newborn clients her way. Although I have been doing nothing but holding a baby for a solid month now, I doubt I will ever acquire her baby whispering capabilities, patience, and ability to gently fold little ones into such relaxed and adorable poses. Our session, with a few little breaks, took the better of five hours. It is careful hard work, and I’m happy to tell you here officially, that she is the woman to do it! Just be sure to talk to Morgaine even before you are due since she books up quickly and these sessions are best done in the first week of life.
